How the calculation works

Starting from your chronological age, the tool applies adjustments (positive or negative) based on 10 evidence-backed factors: regular physical activity, Mediterranean or DASH diet, sleep quality, tobacco use, alcohol intake, chronic stress, social connections, BMI, blood pressure and family history. Each factor can subtract up to 3 years or add up to 8, based on epidemiological studies (Nurses' Health Study, Framingham).
